well, wadr i would call it an obvious fixation, as we have the entire Bible that goes by that description; and i only mean to point out that reducing Scripture to one,
amended verse makes it easy to imagine that one has acquired the best definitions for the terms in the verse, which i also suspect is inadequate in many cases. Doesn't mean that
Acts 2:38 is not a great verse--but unfortunately it is made "common" by doing this, imo.
