All this should be said at a scheduled event before the semester begins and it should be mandatory attendance for ALL students before they go on to their next semester.
With that said overreacting can hurt the school in the long run. Look at all the bad press the college has already got.

Im a little unsure of the whole thing.
Did these incidents really happen? where they reported to authorities?
What exactly could the president have done to prevent them? Call in the national guard?>
