the thing is, his vision of how things are supposed to be is different from ours. Those he converted went on en masse to martyrdom; his concept of "baptised" and "consume Christ, flesh and blood" is much removed from ours. One has to consider that Paul cannot be contradicting Christ, therefore he is restating Him. imo.
