I've been the beneficiary of an anointed word. I've also been "called out" by a fake whose entire "ministry" involves reading minds. In front of God and everybody, including the local pastor, he called me out and stated that I was the key to revival in the city in which the church I was visiting sat, assuming that I was a member.
I was embarrassed for him, and felt bad for the local pastor.
Frauds damage faith in the gifts.

There is no doubt that the gifts of the spirit are alive and well in the church. But it is the self-proclaimed folks who make a mockery of what God is doing.
A true prophet and one filled with the spirit and operating in the gifts of the spirit, will have a humble spirit, and not seek recognition for the gifts in operation in his life.
As soon as one begins to get lifted up, and proud about what God is doing, the spirit leaves, but the flesh continues to try to keep the momentum going. And eventually, as we've seen with this situation, the fruit is revealed for all to see.
