Reaping What You Sow After You Come to God

The Bible says when we come to God we are a new creature and all things become new. Scriptures also says He puts our sins as far as the east is from the west. Preacher where I attended church said we keep reaping for sins we committed in the world and any we commit after starting to church and receiving the Holy Ghost. I pray daily and work at dying daily. I strive not to sin but I am not going to say I never sin. I have the Holy Ghost and have repented and baptized believe Acts 2:38. Please weigh in on this. Give Scripture. I understand as if a woman gets pregnant before she comes to God, there is the stigma attached to that. I have never done that. After his sermon, I feel anxious. Sin should not abound so that Grace may abound. However, do we reap all the seeds sown in sin after we give our lives to God? Such a discouraging sermon.
