I feel like I am FINALLY back in the land of the living! Still not 100%, but I safely passed through the whiney phase, followed by the apathetic phase, into the zombie phase, had a short stay in the crabby phase, and have finally moved into the realm of mild irritation. (i.e. sick of being sick!)
And I am finally somewhat caught up at work after leaving early last thursday and friday. (I am blessed to have understanding bosses who take one look at me when I am sick and say "do what you need to do and go home!" )
Today I went and did something I have been wanting to do for awhile, I got a haircut. My hair was still so damanged after that perm I got 3 1/2 years ago. I babied it for 3 years, triming only an inch a couple times a year, and though the top part was in excellent shape, there was not much I could do for the ends.
So I followed the two-week rule of hair. Anytime you want to do anything drastic to your hair, you wait at least 2 weeks. If its something that you still want to do, then go ahead (lots of times, we are just having a bad hair day). And in my case, I actually waited closer to 2 months.
It was a hard decision because I LOVE long hair, and I really didn't want to lose the length, but on the other hand, it looked so awful and kept breaking off, no matter what I did. So I went in with a plan. I told her I wanted 3 inches off, knowing that I didn't want more than 5 inches. I thought a nice 2 inch cushion would be sufficient. When I got back to work and looked at it, I figured that she must have cut closer to 7 inches
After I got over my initial shock, I have to say that it looks good, and it got rid of the remaining damage. To most non-apostolic people it would still seem long, (half way down my back), but to me it seems really short!
I guess I have joined the ranks of bobbed-hair women. I need to go ask Bro. Epley if I should stop praying now
