"There are several words that are translated as 'praise.' They describe the raising of hands, kneeling, singing, singing in a group (or choir), shouting, dancing, even being clamorously foolish.
There are really only 2 words that are translated 'worship.' One of them describes bowing in reverence and the other describes carving, fabricating or fashioning. The latter is used in a verse talking about the worship of idols.
This struck me as a very clear distinction : Worship is either directed towards Adonai, or somewhere else. There is no middle gound."
