I don't agree with the majority of Barack Obama's politics. Unless he governs the country from a moderate center point of view, I think his first two years could very well take on the tone of Clinton's first two years. I see hard knocks and possible failures unless he changes his plans and policies. I'll pray for him and ask that he seek and follow God's wisdom in the months and years to come.
That said, I'll note, like many have already, the historic moment we all witnessed tonight. I believed that at some point in my life I would see an African American candidate elected President, but I'll admit I didn't believe the country had come as far as it has toward bridging the racial divide that has stained our history. As someone who's studied the Civil War indepth, the endangerment of the Union and the rift that has endured these last 143 years, I couldn't helped but be moved by the emotion of seeing the country elect an African American to the Presidency.
He wasn't my choice, but the historical significance of this moment was moving to witness.
