Yet, never has a preacher of Apostolic/Pentecostal background risen to the level of prominence Jakes is reaching. His prominence, assuming he doesnt go "off track" could be a good thing for the Pentecostal message; that's all I'm saying.
I know the show is not going to be a "preacher show"... (Jakes has a degree in Psychology, making it even more likely this will just be a general "advice" program) . But if God is in this, the increase in national exposure Jakes that will receive from this TV show could still be net positive for the furtherance of the gospel.

Billy Grahams ministry is nothing to be compared. He didn't have a mega church. He always preached the gospel..He was an evangelist. He didn't make a killing off the gospel.
If national exposure for Jakes is what it is, I don't think God is in it. Let's get back to the word. We are to magnify HIM...not our tents, not our names, not our ministries.
Compare the first church with today. It was drastically different. The church was the "invisible church"...they died for the gospel, not "got rich off the gospel"....All this noteriety for named preachers seems to run counter to what I read in the bible.
