Could well be......seems Gideon armed himself to protect Isreal's food supply at God's direction.......even so, if soul was prepared to share his supply perhaps the Lord would multiply it............
I rely of the Lord to handle all the multitude of things he has not given me the ability to handle. If He's seen fit to give me an ability I ought to use it best I can before I ask for His help with it.
