Accident

Wow you never know what the day holds. After arriving home this afternoon my small pomerian wanted to go outside in the front yard instead of the fenced backyard.

Unfortunately, there were tree trimmers across the street and she decided she was going to cross the road to visit them. I was calling her back and she was running faster. I started after her and the men heard me calling for her and went to the road to try and keep her from crossing as they had just seen another dog get run over for doing the same thing recently.

I was wearing some slip on shoes with a wedge heel. Needless to say, as luck would have it just as I got to the road, I crashed into the road full force. I thought I was going to hit the man crouched down but I think he moved and let me have all the road instead.

It knocked me out for a second or so. One of the men had his cell phone out and was calling 911. I heard him say "she is coming around now". My right knee has a couple gashes and my left hand has some minor scratches. My niece told me that I probably pulled my stomach muscles since I feel like I have done at least 100 sit ups.

I am thankful I was not hurt worse. I am not as young as I once was and it was a very hard hit. Seems like when you try and catch yourself you speed up. Anyway, I witnessed a friend of mine have a similiar accident that permanently crippled her hand. So I know I am very blessed I was not hurt worse.

I am told tomorrow I will really be sore.
