(that was 10 years ago too) Another sister was a florist before becoming a broker. Between these two sisters, I was taught the art of bow and wreath making. God chose to gift my family with an artistic flair for decorating. The beauty of our surroundings were evidently emphasized growing up, there is a love for color and coordinating. You can not look at the beautiful building that my father designed and built as the church he pastored and not see the ability.

The diversity in each of our styles is interesting. It ranges from the old and antique to more traditional to the very modern, and I am some what in the middle of that traditional – modern stage. For whatever reason, right now I am on a “toy/workshop” kick. My desk/area at work is done in that… and I will always love snowmen at Christmas.

I enjoy seeing all the pictures you post at Christmas and throughout the year. I can’t always post during the day, but find them interesting to view.

I will say that I really truly do regret not utilizing all those little ornaments my kids made growing up…. they are neatly packed away in a bucket w/each of their names on it, along with everything else they’ve made me in school.
I used to do the mountains under the tree and let the kids arrange the village houses, nativity scene, etc. That seemed to satisfy them and let me decorate the tree how I wanted.

One year I decided to put on the traditional candy canes. They didn't last long and so I quit doing it. I just couldn't see that candy sticking to their teeth for a month! LOL!

I don't think that I have a natural flair for decorating. I have to make a lot of adjustments, breath in and out, throw things and start over! I like my tree this year, but my camera is turning my burgundy berries pink and my gold sprays yellow. It's very aggravating and I don't know how to fix it.

My daughter and I have a lot of the same love of color - sage greens, ochre, chocolate brown, etc., but our styles are totally different.

She has a natural flair. It doesn't take her any time at all to achieve her goals. Everything she touches always has a professional look. If I gave that to her, I want it back!!!!! LOL!
