Very good point. I'm sure when young children were being molested in the Catholic Church, many of them were ridiculed or berated for making such accusations. In other words, "How dare you question those who are HOLY!!"
My wife was molested by her father for the first 9 years of her life. When she came forward to tell the World about what was going on, some of her own family thought she was lying or exaggerating.
A few years ago, her father died in prison, on "3 Strikes You’re Out" felony charges, all of which were child abuse.
