That's why we hated to see him go, because he has a proper understanding of such things.

Men who really want political offices probably shouldn't have them.

I've always been of the thought that most district positions except for Superintendents and Presbyters should be held by non-pastors ....

The org has overwhelmed pastors with additional responsibilities ....

A pastors first job should be pastoring.

Furthermore ... district board members should be required to have a certain amount of non-pastoring administrative assistants

You talk like someone from either TX or La where the districts are large with many preachers / pastors.

You have to remember that there are many districts that are not in the Bible Belt or where the UPC / Oneness Pentecostalism has made much inroads.

If you limited district offices to non pastoring preachers in these districts there would be no one to serve.

I disagree ... I come from the New York Metro District that had about 25 churches ... there were many general and local licensed ministers that could fill positions like Youth President and Harvest Time director ...

why burden a pastor with these type of administrative activities ....

My brother in law served as District Youth President .... as a locally licensed minister in the NYMD ....

I've pitied pastors who get positions like Harvest Time director and have to take from their precious time to organize rallies and collect offerings .....
