You missed a word.
Males are the ones... naturally... adorned. No make up needed. Just buff up.
I brought this up earlier that it is odd that in all of nature the males are the adorned of the species and yet humans have turned that norm on its head.

Humans did, or God did? I think it was God's design that made women the fairer sex.

Indeed. Fairer... but not more adorned. We humans did that one.
I am sure that to the noble peacock the peahen is the fairer of the two. She is also probably to be honored as a weaker vessel.
But fairer and more adorned are not one and the same. I think the additional adorning comes from an inner doubt of just how fair you ladies actually are... all on your own... no help needed.
I find nothing more beautiful than a woman adorned with humility, wisdom, honor and the beauty God gave her.
All the paint in the world can't beat that. And that, my dear friend, is as fair as it gets.

Very poetic but methinks your humanizing the animals too much. They care about one thing, breeding. Unfortunately, I think too many people feel that way also. Interestingly, the animals that DO mate for life tend to look identical to each other, such as the Canadian goose and most parrots.

You're right. God made us different from the animals in many, many ways.

God adorned women with more beautiful hair. And God obviously thought it was very normal for women to want to adorn themselves with jewelry and beautiful things, since he used it a lot in poetic imagery.
And no, adorning does not come from inner doubt. It comes from loving beautiful things. I really wish people wouldn't try to make this more complicated than it is.
Women don't NEED to adorn themselves to be beautiful. Yes, women are beautiful even without any adornment. My grandmothers are both very beautiful women, and use no adornment at all. But many women love adornments simply because they love adornments. There is no evil ulterior motive at work there, and it's not sinful.
Some women like flat, simple, comfortable shoes. Some love colorful high heels. The women who like the second one don't have image issues, they just like pretty shoes!
I love to decorate my home. My mom likes to keep things simple. We are two different people with two different tastes. I love adornments, she doesn't. But I promise you it has nothing to do with inner doubts.
It's really not some deep, complicated issue.

D4T - this simply isn't true. Women are attracted to pretty things. I like to put vases of fresh flowers all over the house, and when buying rainboots, I automatically choose colorful polka dots over plain green or black. When I'm dressing myself, I choose clothes with soft textures in pretty colors, and I love to wear colorful scarves twisted around my neck. I don't wear scarves because I think I'm ugly anymore than I put flowers on my table because I think my table's ugly.

Typical juxtaposition between "paint" and good character.
