No he said the new generation...He is saying if the revisionists are right with their claims then the first generation were liars, hypocrites, etc...but he doesn't believe the revisionists.

Yes, but he clearly could be presenting these insinuations simply to plant the thought and then claim that he doesn't believe it. It's like me saying, "I've heard people talk about Baron being an alcoholic...but I don't believe it's true."
He's given the accusations credibility just by bringing it up. It's enough for people to say, "Hmmm......".

I don't think so. I think he's saying - if the revisionists are to be believed (that the three-steppers didn't really believe the one-steppers were truly saved), then this is the logical conclusion of their argument.

Yes, I understand all that. What I'm saying is, if one throws out a story and then goes about saying why he doesn't believe the story is true, the story is still out there and now needs to be dealt with.
