There were two times in the Bible that all male babies under the age of two years old were killed, when Moses and Jesus was born. If the republicans do away with Disability, I am afraid that the stock market will not pay for disability, and if the stock market crashes like it has in the past, then many would lose their retirement. These are the laws that the democrats gave us, and the republicans in power would try to do away with Medicare, Medicaid, Disability, Social Security, Public Schools with vouchers to private schools, etc. Sometimes we have to take the bad with the many good things. In a word - competition. We sorely need it. It is a good and healthy way for America.

Basically, New Orleans got rid of the collective bargaining with the teacher's union. That gave them flexibility on salaries and working hours.
The stats show that before Katrina, 64% of the students were shown to be academically unacceptable by the state. That changed to 42% in 2009. In 2007, 50% of students graduated and in 2010, the stats show 90%.
Let's not stifle competition, especially, in education. Our children are our future.
