Re: Christians vs Muslims

Just remember we as Christians are considered dogs to them according to their doctrinal beliefs. They consider us outsiders to their God. It is the same or like spirit the Jews had toward the early Christians. What really gets my attention is how the so-called Christian churches in this country are trying to united Christian believers under the pretense that the Muslim God is the same God we worship. And what is even more disturbing, is the people who attend denominational churches under the christian identity agree. Now some of those people are people who are in high places within this government. Watch Out!!

Re: Christians vs Muslims

You would be wrong about that dog remark my friend. Christians are considered and named under the definition "people of the book" and had protected status from the beginning along with another monotheistic group that had orgins as followers of God after ancient teachings of Noah.

The rift between Christians and Jews and Muslims is in contradiction to the teachings of Mohammed and those who followed him.

As to unity, there is disunity between Muslim communities based on everything from country of orgin (Arabs after all are a prejudiced lot as I have observed) to variations in beliefs. The reason Sunni Islam is by far the majority is because Sunni Islam is based on the Quran and original teachings of Mohammed while other sects of Islam have some added "fatwas" or declarations that do not necessarily match those original teachings and there is bitter resentmen towards that. Some of those are used to persecute christians instead of offer them the same protections as Muslims (as the Prophet required).

As to the "christians dont use bombs and guns" comments there were some great forms of torture thought up by clever christians to show other but different christians the error of their ways and I note that this continued until our forefathers in their wisdom built the wall between church and state that all of us enjoy but some of us use as a claim that this was in fact a christian thing and not actually protection from christian practices of persecution and cruelty towards other christians.

The pilgrams as I recall weren't looking for money or riches when they sailed away.....

PS: Hi from Jakarta - Where Christians and Muslims and Hindus can freely mix in the most most populous Muslim country in the world and we are glad to be out of Saudi for awhile LOL

The comparison is today and now, compared with Islam. There are no "christian on christian" Religious based ideological acts of violence of Christians on Christians with the rare exceptions of Ireland but even that does not happen anymore and it wasn't really based on religious ideology but a historical national grudge
