In general, I eat very healthy. No fried foods except occasional eggs cooked with a small amount of butter. We never drink sodas, koolaid, or that stuff. You won't find hardly any boxed or canned goods, and NO chips or snacks in our home. We eat mostly fresh fruits and fresh veggies and lean meats. So we eat pretty healthy. BUT... I need to lose 60 lbs. I've started walking a mile each day except sunday and I work out lots on our home gym thingy... but I need a jumpstart that doesn't involve those diet pills... Anythoughts??
Funny you should ask....

I just talked to a couple of work friends and we are going back to weekly weight watchers meetings.

I find that being weighed every week and keeping track of my weight and my intake of calories keeps me honest.

I also bought a treadmill a couple of months ago. I try to "tread" 40 minutes a day atleast 5 days a week. I keep track of the claories I burn in that 40 minutes so I will know how much energy I need to expend to balance out that ice-cream cone I want.

That's a good idea... I should keep track of my calories... And I do find the more I exercise, the less likely I am to eat the extra sweets... My thinking is that , If I am doing all this work to burn off what I already have on me, why add more......

I plan on buying a treadmill... I've been walking while my son rides his bike... At first that wasn't so bad because he just started learning...But now, he likes to zoom and I don't zoom....

If you buy a treadmill you don't have to buy one of those high priced jobs. I have 4 preprogrammed routines on mine but I don't use any of them.

I bought one at a reasonable price. I bought it new. Some say that buying a used one is not a good idea unless you know the previous owner because some sell them with the motors pretty much worn out.

Also, the one I has a auto incline adjustment so you can change it while you are walking unlike the manually adjusted inclines. Mine also tells you your heart rate and calories burned. Heart rate is important to know so you keep in the "zone".

I can walk no matter what the weather or time of day. I like to walk in the morning but in the winter it's dark at my usual walking time. Same problem for those who like to walk in the evening. No problemo with the treadmill.

I'm glad I bought it. I think it was a good investment in my health.

That is the kind I want... I saw the "BowFlex" treadmill and it looked really cool. But the price was toooo much. but you do get 3 machines in 1... But a simple treadmill that will have some of those extras you spoke of will work for me.
