Yes It Was God

Contrary to popular opinion God does notice what nations do and at times brings immediate judgment.

As much as I think BO is wrong on Israel, I would hate to draw a line to Joplin. Who knows. The church is the apple of God's eye, and they have endured persecution for millennia. Only eternity will bring the true justice to evil.

Why Joplin? Were they next in line? Random selection? Sure - could be true, I guess.

But to state it as fact (as you have) is nonsense.

Did you read the article? When judgment was raining down on Egypt Pharoh reasoned this is not YHWH, the Hebrew Elohim. Each time he reasoned it away. No this is not YHWH. No this is not YHWH......

Before long nothing of value was left of his nation.

God does judge nations and people but what about Job? According to that account Satan brought caused all the misfortune that came upon Job including the whirlwind which took out the house his adult children were in.

During the plagues God had asked pharoh to let His people go so they could worship Him and as an answer to their cries.

To say that God judged what BO proclaimed concerning the borders of Israel equates with what happened to that man losing his two baby sons is mind boggling in it's concept.

God is just and fair and merciful. I'm left awe struck with the idea that God singled out Joplin to bear the brunt of a fumbling, nimcompoop of a president when the borders havent' even been moved yet.

God does actually wait until the deed is done.

P/S Michael, I have great respect for you personally.

Re: Yes It Was God

Hi Sandie,

I appreciate the kind word friend. Yet when God judges nations many in the past have been killed. It might not seem fair. Yet as I recall 70 thousand people died in Israel once because David sinned.

24:12 Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.
24:13 So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.
24:14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.
24:15 So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.
24:16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.
24:17 And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house. 2 Samuel 24:12-17

Note in verse 17 David said he had sinned but said the people were innocent. Of course the judgment was on Israel also but David was distressed over their destruction. It probably seemed to some that YHWH was being unfair.

He is of great mercy praise his name. But his judgments can be furious. He evidently does not want the land given to the Islamists.
