That's what I've been talking about!
Right side or left side - and if you can tell, then it's IMMODEST!!!! Either wear a larger size pant or don't sit with your legs wide open.
The incident I'm thinking about primarily was a rather large minister and he wore a tan suit that evening. The way his pants fit and the way he sat on the platform left nothing to the imagination. We were all glad when he got up to preach and stood behind the pulpit.
And, you are right - - - adjustments need to be made BEFORE service in the restroom and stop positioning things on the platform.

I've been around a lot of church and this just seems really a rare occurrence to me, or I just wasn't paying attention.

You just aren't paying attention.

Hard not to see what's right in front of your eyes. *shudder*
If this were a simple matter of modesty and had nothing to do with gender distinction, it would make more sense to me for men to wear long skirts. Obviously, there are several cultures where this is already the case. I think that the women's outfits such as those worn in India with pants (or even jeans) and a tunic are the most modest of all. There's definitely nothing remotely masculine about these looks.

I think ya'll just like being sensational here sometimes. Or it's the only place where we can dump anything negative that is bothering us. LOL! I've been around men, all of my life, that wear Wranglers every day of their life, my husband included, and I'm not seeing their "stuff". I find it extremely hard to believe a large group of men are sprawling around on the platform, in dress pants, with their "junk" in our faces.

Thanks for taking the time, but I'm not interested in this type of conversation. I was mainly interested, because of the title of the thread, in the "origin" of pants in society.

I'm not being sensational. And it's not even negative enough to "bother" me to where I would need to dump anything. I just think it's bad taste. It's usually dress pants that are too small (particularly in the inseam) and probably underwear that don't fit properly. It's gross and I don't want to see it and it's immodest, but I don't think it's intentional on the part of men, generally speaking.
Not likely to happen in Wranglers, really...at least, not so, um, defined. Jeans are made from thicker fabric, so while it can still be a bit embarrassing if someone is wearing SUPER tight jeans, it's not quite as bad. Although there was this ONE guy who attended the same church we did in Louisiana...really big guy. Wore skin tight jeans that were probably three sizes too small. Tucked in his shirt. Pulled them up WAY too high. It was a hot mess. And he sat on the front row.
