Re: Crossdressing...Just how does a woman particip
The women not wearing pants standard is a health hazzard. We live in a society that has become sedentary. Most of our work is done on computers. We sit in front on computers at work and at home. We sit on our butts at church. We sit a lot.
We have an obesity epidemic. 60% of US women are obese.

Years ago when I joined a UPChurch, I gave up my 5 mile a day run, and my active lifestyle to comply with a dress standard that made it very uncomfortable for me to exercise. I gained weight. Our bodies were created to move and work, not sit all day.
When I abandoned the dress standard, I began to run, lift weights, and swim. I feel so much better physically. I am a healthy weight. I could never go back to the bondage of being confined to dresses all the time. It's like chinese women having their feet bound.

I understand your POV and appreciate your personal experience, Amanah, but I don't agree with your conclusions. There are just as many obese women in pants as in skirts. The 60% includes women from all walks of life--many of whom wear pants all the time--it isn't a cross section of only Apostolic women.

You're definitely correct that obesity isn't merely an Apostolic problem, but she did have a good point. Being required to wear dresses at all times can make you not be as athletic. It doesn't always happen, but it can affect it.
I knew many Pentecostal girls who would opt out of P.E. if allowed because they felt stupid out there in a skirt. Swimming class was completely off-limits. Team sports weren't allowed because of the dress code.
Her own testimony was that she went from being active to sedentary because of the dresses only requirement, and I'm sure she isn't the only one.

I didnt mean that only Apostolic women are fat. My point was that our sedentary lives contribute to our obesity, and the cure to that is to be able to exercise along with a healthy diet.
Being restricted to wearing dresses down to below your knees with long sleeves down to your wrists makes is much harder to exercise, much harder to be healthy. And its not just obesity that is at issue.
Exercise staves off heart disease, bone loss, loss of muscle mass, loss of flexibility, and can greatly increase your quality of life, reducing the possibility of you being a burden to society in your later years.
Most of us consider smoking to be a sin against the body, which is the temple of the Holy Ghost. the Md who authored "Younger Next Year," states that lack of physical exercise and a healthly diet is worse for your body then smoking.
When I made a post, not long ago on this subject, most of the women on this forum admited to not being at a healthy weight. It is a real concern.
