Re: How feminine is too feminine?

So it makes one a sissy to sing love songs to Jesus? Try reading the Psalms. Song Of Solomon. John leaned on his breast? Male or female should be loving him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength!

We are going to be the bride of Christ. And yet we are also SOLDIERS OF CHRIST. So yes I oppose a feminine look and attitude in men tho I have not met many of these.

I see more females with a mannish look where I live here in Southern Ky.

Ummm... let's face it. Many of our worship songs are very "sissy" compared to Psalms of David when David sings about God destroying the enemy on the hills of Jerusalem.

While I really like the following song... it's very feminine in my opinion...

I think the further North you go, the more feminine men you'll find. My previous pastor's style was "metro", a very tamed down market place male style. I do admit, you guys do have some manly women down south. lol

As for John leaning on Christ's breast... in ancient times they sat on the floor and reclined around the table. Men ate with men, women with women. Often, the best friend or family member belonging to the head of the table would recline upon his chest when having a more private conversation. In their culture it was a very masculine thing to do.

The point is... in many mainstream churches to day being "manly" is out... being tamed, styled, and metro is in. One of the music ministers in my local church made my "gay-dar" go on high alert. The dude was thin, very soft spoken, held his "L's" like a girl, glimmering eyes, almost looked like eye lashes, and danced lick a chick. I thought he was gay for sure. Then he married. I pray to God it wasn't to cover his true disposition. But the dude is more woman than man.

Yeha! We call our home Burkesville.
To those proud of it, some call it Burkesvegas.
