Yeah they should, but do they?

Maybe if people had been helping people the welfare program never would have begun...

Besides if tax payers are the kind of people that want to help others why be upset about the government using your money to do it?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is sick and tired of hearing people say that people should help people and then complain that the government is taking some of their money to help people. That line always makes me do a double take and go "REALLY????" That there are countless decent arguments against welfare and that people still result to using the its stealing argument is quite telling to me. But I'm still willing to give them the benefit of a doubt and believe that they just have a problem identifying the aspects of welfare that they find unacceptable. But in order to even get to a discussion about the pros and cons of welfare they are really going to have to stop the sillyness of calling the tax to fund it stealing.

It is because we want help people who really need it not the lazy bunch of freeloaders that are abundant in the welfare system.

We want to decide who we want to help not some faceless government beauracracy.

Don't lie. Lying is a sin. If welfare was done away yall can't tell me that you plan on using all that money to help others. It just won't happen. In fact the reason I know it won't happen is because the very argument many of you was giving earlier in this discussion: "if I didn't have to pay for welfare then my life would be easier/better".

This is the crux of the issue in my opinion. Because of our level viewing field and the fact we do not know all the folks who are suffering, government agencies put in place to help makes welfare much more efficient. In my opinion churches and government working together to help provides people with assistance and that without a constructed set up would not get the aid they need.
