I think what TFT was trying to communicate was that unless we are walking in Christ we can never be holy. Walking in the Spirit requires faith and faith fades and diminishes when we fail to stay connected to Jesus through prayer and abiding in the Word and maintaining an attitude of thanksgiving and praise. To me it's an awareness of His abiding Presence and fostering that awareness through devotion and consecration.
