I thought it was a pretty good comparison. Nomenclature in King James' era used the masculine quite often to refer to all "mankind". Which includes women by the way, even though the term is "man"kind.

This isn't about mankind, it's about a bishop being a husband. If you believe marriage is between a man and woman, a husband is always, without exception, male. A bishop is to be a male, according to the requirements for a bishop.
