If the SC is compelled to take an "all-or-nothing" approach to this, then the whole thing will be declared unconstitutional. I honestly don't want that. There are parts to the law that are insane, but the good intent is there.
Something has to be done to better protect those who are too ill to get insurance or not financially able to afford the care they need.
Remember the 13 yr old girl in California.
Remember your neighbor.
Hopefully, you aren't the one who becomes so ill that the only medicine that can adequately treat you is too expensive for you to purchase on your own.
Hopefully, you aren't the one who pays his insurance premium for years and then gets ill-- only to have your provider raise your rates so high that you can't afford it.
Hopefully, your insurance provider doesn't just drop you after you've paid your premium for years before you were dagnosed with cancer or diabetes.
