Regarding calling him out there... then I would be as wrong as he is. Unless you can find me scriptural basis for doing so, Matthew 18 shows that I am to go to him privately. I do not go places any more (as I stated earlier) with him and his good wife.... but even if I did, I would be causing just as much confusion and out of order as he is to correct him right there.

If you can provide me the Scriptural reference where I would be in order, then please provide and I'll reconsider.

See, I'll be honest with you guys... why do you all do that? Why do you in the middle of a serious discussion crack jokes? Seriously, I'm not complaining... I'm asking, I don't understand it.

Here's where I'm coming from... so I'm not misunderstood. I see these discussion boards just like a conversation if a group of us were standing around talking about something. And I'd never, ever even think of cracking a joke in the middle of a serious discussion... and would even be afraid it would be considered disrespectful by the one who initiated the discussion.

Do you guys do that when your actually talking to someone? Guess I'm just a more serious person... but out of all the discussion forums I participate in, this one is the only one where folks do that... so I figured I'll just ask why.

Yes, I actually do that when I'm talking to someone and then we fall on the floor and laugh our heads off because, YOU KNOW that would be funny if you tripped the guy! And even funnier if his wife fell on top of him and lost her shoes!

Okay, seriously, you handled that very well and I wouldn't have expected you to handle it any other way. Very respectful thinking on your part.

See, there again.. if I were in a conversation and someone cracked a joke in the middle of it when I'm hoping they'll discuss things with me seriously... I lose all respect for that person... I just don't get that.

I think I'm done with this discussion... it's more frustrating than it's worth guys... I know you all mean well, but it seems like a thread can never stay serious without someone coming in and wanting to crack jokes and introduce humor. And that's fine if that's how you guys carry on conversations when your talking with folks... but I just don't... and it's a huge turn off.... y'all take care.

The key to a great sense of humor is to know when it's appropriate to use it, and when it should be placed in idle and not used. One doesn't have to be serious all the time, not at all, but there are times and places for everything... we must know when the appropriate place and time is for inserting humor as to not be disrespectful to all involved.
