The ministers in the Southern California region are very much for this. There may be a couple opponents...however, there is a HUGE majority for it. I heard there is a vote in the Southern California area on Saturday of UPC ministers regarding the vote. Those results from the conference and this vote on Saturday will be forwarded to the General Board. I think they take up the issue in Tampa at their General Board meetings.

This sounds like a "mutiny" ... IMO ... it will be used against the fellowship .... if the TV resolution passes and give another reason to justify an exodus

There is a undercurrent to "wait and see."

On both sides.

The General Board could still decide to allow the formation even with a negative vote. For this reason, many ministers did not attend and vote.

BOOMM...this is kinda misleading. You mean to tell me...the district is about to vote on a new District Superintendent...a vote that has always called out the troops...and because of a vote on an "issue"...many ministers decided to stay home and not vote?? That is like saying, we won't go to the polls and vote for the president because Prop. 87 is going to be overturned anyway.

There was about 300 of 600 total minister voting there. Some did not vote, as they felt their vote would not matter to those deciding the New District. This is why I could not find a ride 9 hrs down and 9 hrs back. I have read on other boards this idea that "our votes don't count." Amazing to me that someone would feel that way too. Typical of those who don't know how the process really works.

It is Resolution #6 not Prop 87 that they want overturned!....
