It was a rough and tumble place where men died on a regular basis, where, men where kidnapped and taken aboard ships where they were forced to serve for sometimes years before they ever got back to America and were able to sneek off the ship. I agree with you. the WD however is more of a macrocosim. all the issues are bigger and the players are more vocal.
if this were some other large district, you would have men working behind the scenes to get something done. In the WD, they get up and preach about it then send tapes to everyone concerned.

bro ... this can be said about Louisiana, Texas ... even the New York Metro district ... politics and influence has this type of power over some folks.

No, every state has issues and there are still conservitives and liberals and everything in between, but Louisiana has had very strong leadership that has not tollerated borish behavior from anyone for as long as there has been a UPCI. everyone still is behind the DS in La. now. so while there are issues, it isnt a continual fight for control of the state.

TRUE...which is very different here. When leadership has tried to not tolerate this behavior...we get a letter writing campaign slamming the district. One was the topic here a few months ago. Unfortunately, it is a FIGHT for CONTROL.
