It's not about forgiveness, Newt is a smart but unelectable guy. And that is a great speech, especially if you are courting the family values crowd and you tend to lack them.

This is his third marriage, and why did the other two end?

He had a lot of mercy for Bill Clinton, while doing the same thing...seems his speech was politically expedient but not something he really lives.

Just by this one statement, I can see you don't know Newt, and are not clear on the particulars. He never lied about what he was doing and simply, by rule of law, went after Clinton on Perjury charges. It wasn't about adultery, it was about perjury.
