Most people never read the book "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man".

I know this sounds weird,
but aside from staying informed,
I could care less about him.
I pray for him, as our leader,
I obey the laws...I'm mildly curious
how much the movie cost me, personally,
but other than that, our spheres, his nation
and the Kingdom I serve, rarely intersect.
This might be hard to read;
I love(d) my country, but
I'm not even a little surprised at
what it has become, or what will happen next.
History is replete with examples,
and there is truly nothing new
under the sun.
You say I don't know him,
but I was there, on inauguration day,
when he dismissed the cabinet that got him elected
(tyvm! see ya!), and moved Goldman Sachs
into the White House, to nary a peep.
Frankly, he is not the one who scares me.

I think this is a common feeling, but I'm not buying it. For one thing, it takes years for decisions made at that level to show their results, and for another, I think God would claim responsibility for "where we are."
I'm still having a little trouble getting my mind all the way around this,
but sparring with Timmy about Pharoah, and God's claims in Genesis, claiming stuff that no one would necessarily want to claim (in this case,
"I, God, hardened Pharoah's heart") dimly show me that like Pharoah, Obama might be "responsible," (although due to timing I'd more likely put our present stuff on Bush) but to God, the POV that really matters, we delude ourselves with this kind of thinking, as easy as it is; Obama represents US, all of us, in this weird way that I think would cause God to say, "Uh, no; I did that, and I AM doing the next thing, too--vote for whoever you want, quack, I AM laughing at your temporal efforts to do good."
Good luck making sense of that

And so a conscientious Christian is to get involved in this (fear-producing) system how, again? You are about to suggest, at best, some compromise; some "lesser of two evils" that, I'm sorry (not), but I am personally no longer in a position to have to contemplate.
One must do what they think best, however,
and I un-facetiously encourage anyone who
thinks that they can make a difference by voting
to do so. Ask yourself, "Who would Christ vote for?"
and BAM, follow that advice. That exact method is
what got me to here. Peace.
