Re: Hi! This thread is NOT about politics
I wish I could post the video of my granddaughter singing the second verse of the national anthem at school. In honor of Veteran's Day. And she nailed the high note, I am so proud of her!!

Re: Hi! This thread is NOT about politics
Are you kidding me? I am sooooo thrilled and excited that there is a thread NOT about politics!!
My heart is very heavy tonight. Walt's cousin lost his 27 year old son to suicide this week. We had the funeral for him today. And then I got a call to tell me that a young man I had babysat for many years ago when he just a toddler took his own life today. What is going on? What is wrong with all these young men? Don't they understand the severity of their choice? Don't they realize the wide-spread effect of their choice? (one of them left a darling little daughter and a fiance). I know I should feel bad for them that they felt so hopeless that they would take their own lives. But right now, I'm not sure I can muster that. Sorry. Pray for Walt's family and also for the Sharples family, please. Thanks.
Maybe politics would be a better thing to talk about, eh? Nah, the fact that Obama is still president is equally as depressing in my book. LOL
Ok, so let's talk about Christmas! Have you started your shopping?

Margie, so sorry to hear of those young folks deaths. Praying with you for all families/friends associated with them.
On the lighter note, yes, I've started my Christmas shopping. It's getting here so quickly!

Agreeing in prayer with Lacey, for the families and friends of these two young men who evidently lost hope in this life. May GOD, who is rich in mercy, bring peace, hope and comfort to those left behind, in Jesus Name!

Oh, Margie, I am so sorry. That is really tough. I had a kind of tough day extended family-wise too......not like yours though. Just one of those where someone said "we are going to have it out with your brother" kind of days. Suicide is so final....
As you may remember, I start my Christmas shopping in January, so I am well advanced.

Sorry to hear this, Margie.
Some of my Christmas shopping is done, and some of my decorations are up. Trees will probably go up after Thanksgiving.
