Colossians 3:17

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him.

The way we typically baptize in our U.S. Churches we either get into the water with the one to be baptized or stand next to the tank where the one is to be baptized. Then we say, "I baptize you...." and we dip the person under the water. So, when we baptize someone it is something we do "in word" and "in deed."

I think we complicate so many things that are so simple.
