This will be my final post on this subject, and maybe this forum altogether...

Sir, you stated in a previous post that I was hateful, but you are wrong...I am not hateful. You may not agree with my posts, but you do not know me from Adam's house cat. Anyone who knows me personally will tell you, I am NOT hateful.

If my posting on this Memphis Mess has offended your sense of spirituality, I sincerely apologize. I will keep my opinions to myself.

But you have also crossed a line, tv...the above post is way out of bounds.

Disagree with me...fine. Want to discuss the fine points of Scripture...I'm all for it. But posting what you did is despicable.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

I threw out verse after verse in numerous posts which were ignored. Just pointed out the fallacies in AYR's opinion in spite of what the Bible says about gossip, it's okay because free speech is legal.

We felt the love when you called a preacher a dirty rotten scoundrel.

But that is where you are ignorant because you are broad brushing legal permissions. You decided that since all these other things are legal, I must be ok with all of them? Where is your moderation? It must be all or none?

Start another thread and give some scripture validating your position that this thread started upon gossip. You cannot refute that Jesus did not discuss Judas. You cannot refute that Peter did not discuss Judas. You cannot refute that the early church did not discuss people, places and things. You talk a lot about scripture, but post very little to support your position.

Why do you insist on continuing to derail this thread and not take your argument to another thread like the admins asked?

The GREATEST Show; the GREATEST Church in Memphis???? I was viewing TPC video service from 11.25.12, and this is the statement that the minister made as he was preparing to bring forth Pastor Brown; "We are the GREATEST Church in Memphis"; I do believe that this type of HYPE/ARROGANCE is what has been breaded into the thinking of its parrishioners, and this is what can/has alienated this church from seeking fellowship with other bro/sisters of like precious faith outside of their own Apostolic Organization. I do believe that this type of condescening attitude is what also makes for a big fall among many within this type of church structure: that statement/belief concept IRKS my spirit!!!

Frankly, this is the same "HYPE/ARROGANCE" that Apostolics as a whole tend to have.

I would not say that all Apostolics as a whole are HYPED/ARROGANT, because I'm not one of these that attempt to promote Elitism/classism among the body: it STINKS, and it's not of God, nor the proper godly spirit/attitude. As a matter-of-fact; my wife and I discerned this spirit many years ago, and this was one of the reasons we did not take fellowship/membership with this organization, although we have visited with this organization's various local churches.

You're right. And I must confess that my wording was bad.

By saying "as a whole," I didn't mean all Apostolics were HYPED/ARROGANT. But it certainly is a disease that plagues the Apostolic movement. As well as other movements.

TLS, I watched that video from their website. "The greatest show in Memphis" was what the minister said. This attitude is pervasive in many churches. Obviously most people choose the church they attend because it best suits them, they like it, they feel its the best place to worship for themselves and or their family. But when someone carries the attitude that they are better than others...pride comes before a fall. And a big part of the problem is it's a "show" rather than a walk with God, a Spirt-filled, Spirit-led life.

I believe God has more than one church in a city trying to reach the masses. It would serve us well to believe He is using large, medium and small sized churches to get the job done. It would serve us well to believe that God is visiting more than one congregation each Sunday, and that there are many churches that are equally as precious and as important in God's sight as the one I attend. It would serve us all well to pray for those other churches, love them, hope for their success in fulfilling the Great Commission and consider them a part of the same great cause that we are a part of, even going so far as seeing them as our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Religious elitism is sickening.

AMEN!!! You have said well. I saw that same video and I said to myself, "SHOW"!!!! Pride-Arrogance-Haughtiness, and High Mindedness are very destructive {devisive} spirits. I believe that the Body of Christ members; we ALL need to walk by these precious passages of sciptures:

St. John 13:34-35..."A new commandment I give unto you, That ye LOVE one another; as I have LOVED YOU, that ye also LOVE one another. By this shall ALL men KNOW that ye are MY disciples, if ye have love one to another"....

1ST CORINTHIANS 13:1-13:

1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8) Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10) But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11) When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is
charity.

JESUS IS OUR GREATEST EXAMPLE AS TO HOW WE OUGHT TO CONDUCT OURSELVES AS CHRISTIANS IN THIS WORLD OF DARKNESS, AND NO PERSON GOES TO CHURCH TO**SEE A SHOW**GOD'S CHURCH IS NOT A HOUSE OF DRAMMA, BUT A PLACE FOR CORPORATE WORSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, EMPOWERMENT, AND EQUIPPING FOR KINGDOM SERVICE: A SPIRITUALLY LOST WORLD IS TRAPPED IN DARKNESS, AND IS IN NEED OF A LIGHT {JESUS THROUGH OUR LIVES} TO GOD THE WOLRD BACK TO A SAVIOUR WHO CAN TURN ON THE LIGHT OF SALVATION INTO THE LIVES OF ALL THOSE THAT SEEK, AND TURN TO HIM.
