It has nothing to do with someone feeling they have an immediate and/or specific "need" for any weapon. It is about them having a Constitutional right to have them.

I like cats too! I don't know if I could shoot anyone either. Although there are guns available in my house should I ever need them or get to them. I would rather bake cookies and make people happy too....
