When Elder Urshan wrote that book he was newly converted to the Oneness doctrine and I think he poorly worded his position. His Son was renowned Oneness preacher. I doubt he would have worded it that way later on in his ministry?

A Urshan believed the same in the early sixties as he did when he was converted.
In the early sixties A Urshan held us a revival. One night after alter call he told a man seeking the HG that if he really needed the HG to go to heaven, God would give it to him on the way up. This is not hearsay I was standing next to Urshan listening to the conversation. The revival closed that night and the next morning I took him to the bus station.

Re: All Trinitarians are Lost!!!!!!!!!!!
Pastor Epley, you created this thread, and boldly entitled it, " All Trinitarians Are Lost !!!", emphasizing this point with many exclamation marks.
I have pointed out teachings by the Apostle Paul that contradicts your stance.
The great Apostle Paul makes it clear that when God fills someone with the Holy Ghost after they have believed the gospel of redemption through Christ's blood (water baptism is obviously a part of " believing" the gospel), that He is marking that person as his own. Paul is clearly saying that the baptism in the PROMISED Holy Spirit is a seal or sign that this person has been accepted by God, justified by faith.
Quote:
13 And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.
14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. (Eph 1:13-14)
|
And of course Paul is referring to the events of Acts chapter 19 when the first Ephesians were converted.
Brother Epley, in front of all these witnesses on this board who are reading this thread I ask you, do you agree with the Apostle Paul or not? Are those who have received the Holy Ghost God's people or not, even if they attend a church with what we'd consider to have less than perfect doctrine? Better yet, do you agree with God?

The saints any place in scripture did not attend a church preaching false doctrine. I do not believe in unconditional eternal security folks could be genuinely saved and become lost for not continuing in the doctrine. I am not speaking of understanding every mystery of the Kingdom but a church not preaching the necessity of the new birth( Acts 2:38) is a false church. These folks in Acts 19 who are the foundation of the Ephesian church were not Trinitarians. You have NO point.

You did not answer the question. Furthermore, read Revelation chapters two and three. Six of the seven churches were FULL of false doctrine and error. Yet, God did not condemn all the converts in those churches because of the error of the leaders.
Furthermore, I received the Holy Ghost in a Trinitarian Pentecostal church in 1980 when I was just 15 years old. ACCORDING TO PAUL in Ephesians chapter one, God was marking me as his own by giving me the Holy Ghost. Do you agree with God or not?

True the churches in Rev 2 & 3 did teach false doctrine but since they were addressed as the church ALL of them had obeyed the gospel( Acts 2:38) to become members of the Lord's church and NONE-ZERO-ZILCH-NADA were Trinitarian. You never make the scriptures fit YOUR experience you make your experience fit the scriptures that is your error.

Paul said that " By one Spirit you are baptized into one body". That's Bible. Was I or was I not baptized into the Body of Christ when Jesus filled me with the Holy Ghost back in 1980?
Again, I ask, since you refuse to answer the question...when God filled me with the Holy Ghost back in 1980, was he or wasn't he marking me as one of his own and having been redeemed by the blood of Christ? You are dodging the question. Furthermore, I'm not referring to " personal experience" in the context you say. I'm referring to have " personally experienced" THE experience mentioned by Paul in Ephesians 1:13-14. Did I receive that experience or not? Please don't cop out like a Mormon or JW and tap dance around the question.
