First the cashier rings up everything.

Person finally starts LOOKING for their checkbook.

"Do you have a pen?"

"Who do I make it out to?"

Can I make it for $50 over?"

"How much is it again?"

Person then writes it in their little ledger book.

Person steals cashiers pen.

Now a very irritated ME gets up and whips out his CC.

I have the perfect solution for you. Buy online.

Other than certain perishables, I already do the majority online.

(And I've even bought some food items, even though they are buckets of dehydrated stuff with a 20-2 year shelf life....)

Did ya have to pay a lot for that stuff?

And where did ya get it from?

A couple of buckets (I have more than a "couple") are from Wise Food Storage. You can get them from their own web site, or even slightly cheaper from Amazon. The cost will be anywhere between 90 and 130 bucks, but the total calorie and serving count various wildly. They make an excellent supplement to additional food storage either stored or grown in the garden. I am also stocking up on literally gallons of honey and lbs of salt. Note: Be careful when buying honey in the grocery store as more and more of it has additives which greatly reduce its shelf life -which in its natural state, is thousands of years!

That's not a bad price for the buckets.

I buy all my honey local. It is unfiltered, unpasteurized and like you said, will last thousands of years.
