I have said it before, and I will say it a thousand times before I die. If people don't want to be topics of conversation with the masses, then they should live ABOVE REPROACH. I told my kids all of their lives- do the right thing because it's the right thing to do...if you always follow this rule of thumb, NO ONE WILL EVER TALK ABOUT YOU TO ANYONE. If we sin- it's public knowledge, and YES, it WILL be discussed. In Pastor's offices, in church board rooms, at the saints' dinner tables and most certainly in public forums. IMHO

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I would take exception to the notion that no one will ever talk about you or slander you if you live above reproach. They do and have.
However, in the thread in question this does not seem to be the case.
By all means, if there is anyone listening that believes or has any evidence that this is something of a witch hunt, please come forward!

My point in this sentence was, people usually won't discuss the GOOD that we do- they only want to know about, and tell about, the BAD...

People who live above reproach are talked about. The Bible does not excuse the conversation because everyone does. Do you teach your kids to do right even if everyone else is doing wrong? Believe people talk about people who are doing right all the time. How many times has Lee Stoneking's sexuality been questioned? People will talk.
Biblical christians refuse to get sucked into the drama.
Good parallell is the world's systems. While the media is all over Lance Armstrong admitting to doping, the things that are important are put on the back burner.
The devil works the same way. The people with self righteous egos are more concerned abou gossiping than healing. Gossip is an abomination. Truth or not, anyone sharing "inside information" has pretty much said to hell with Biblical principles.

I don't understand why people are offended at a word used in the Bible but are not offended at gossip. How twisted are your values? I used the word in context, period.
