And you would have reacted negatively if they had? I don't see it as mockery unless there's some hostility involved. Michal's reaction was hostile and hateful; it wasn't simply amusement.
I suppose it boils down to what you think comprises "mockery." IMO, it isn't so simple as "copying." There has to be an attitude behind it.
Ftr, I do NOT think Renda started this thread so everyone would make fun of Pentecostal worship. I'm surprised that you do.

Well, that is a matter of opinion.

Do we really believe this is how the NT Church worshiped? Or is this a cultural construct?

As to your question about my children, I can answer with one example that is related to praying at the altar. My daughter, 6 years old, was praying to received the Holy Ghost. She would look up, look around and then cry some more. I finally went over to her and asked her why she was doing that. She said, "It gets me going." LOL! I responded, "God wants to listen to your words from your own heart and if you are going to cry, He wants that to be because you love Him and not because it gets you going."
She stopped looking around and presently was speaking in tongues - for an hour. God is good. Let's just be sincere in whatever we do.
