Re: Where Are The Real Apostolics?

I've only been around here for a year and have posted only 5 or 6 times. I figured out pretty quickly that "old school" apostolics are a minority.

I am about as conservative as they come. Acts 2:38, Deuteronomy 6:4, holiness, living for Jesus, plain old modesty, good old fashioned repentance in a pentecostal altar. Good church services where the Holy Ghost is so thick you can almost see the flames. Not just a relationship with God, but a WALK with God like Enoch had is what I'm striving for. I want to be "more than conqueror."

I don't believe in compromising with the world to make them comfortable. But I also know from experience that you cannot spiritually beat on people to show them Jesus. There's a perfect balance there that has to be found. Some people respond well to rougher treatment to snap them to their senses, "Buddy, you're living wrong and can't make heaven this way!" Some need to be led gently by the hand, "Brother, we love you and Jesus loves you but let's talk about some things you should pray for help with." I've seen people saved both ways. That's why there are different preachers with different personalities.

There are a few of us conservatives around but not many and we're mostly quiet.

I believe in all that, but I'm considered to be a Moderate.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Where Are The Real Apostolics?

I've been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. I've been filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. I'm living a holy and sanctified life before God. I don't know if that "qualifies" me a s a "real Apostolic", but I'm born again, so that's enough for me.

Oh. Well...I don't know what I am then lol. I think most people consider me conservative because of the way I practice holiness. As an example, I don't take the chance of displeasing God or causing anyone else to stumble by my skirt length. If I err, I want to err on the side of caution, so I wear them as close to the floor as I can find them. Some people don't share that conviction, but to me, a few extra inches is such a small thing to do to serve God and my fellow man/woman, so why not be safe? If I wanted to push the issue and wear them just long enough to meet human standards, that would show my heart is full of dead men's bones.

I think that's why some have called me conservative.
