Do it. Spirits often attach themselves to objects or things. They will need to discard anything demonic related or the spirit will not leave. One girl came to our church with a necklace related to the santeria occult. A minister prayed over her and asked her to throw it away. She was upset, but eventually the holy spirit led her to toss it in the trash.
