The defendant's own words spoke to his intent to catch the victim, to make sure the victim didn't get away.
He followed and then he chased, he pursued, he ran after, the victim he thought was guilty of something.
The 17 year old was chased, from his point of view. We have his 17 year old perception of being followed and we see his actions. Classic "flight or fight" scenario.
He was from Miami, visiting his Dad in Sanford.
