Re: Glimpses of his cross even at his birth

Are you finished, as I am thinking you might have more? Enjoyed reading your thoughts.... anyway ... and yes, we have missed you around here!

Thanks. That is all my notes on the issue so far. Sermon notes from last Sunday.

Re: Glimpses of his cross even at his birth

A great study. I really appreciate studies like this. And it goes even deeper.

Several years ago, I made a study on the First-born son. Starting with these same scriptures,
Quote:
Num 3:13    Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all
the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in
Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD
.

And came to the conclusion that, today, the Law being changed, this is not to Israel but all that are truly 'born again' are the First Born sons of God. That is why we are the church of the First Born. This might be obvious to some, but I had to study this out for myself.

Therefore, we are not our own, we belong to God, “mine shall they be” and should be holy because He is holy.

Because the birth of Jesus has been Paganized thru the acceptance of Christmas, these great truths are not known by many. Being covered over with Santa Claus and the Easter bunny.

Amen. We're all firstborn from the dead since we're in Christ. Everything about Christ is ours since we were baptized into His death and came into union with Him. His firstbirth from the dead is ours as well.

Just going over these thoughts again this year. The Lord is opening up even more about this in my studies. God is awesome!
