We still sing the old hymns out of the song book and the new songs from the overhead screen.

Yes we still sing one or two out of the book every service.

We also sing some new stuff, some not so new stuff and some of the old choruses and some of the really old choruses.

What scripture says we need to stick to the old paths by singing out of songbooks? It sounds as though you're preaching against projectors as though it is against what God wants.

Oh, I have nothing against a screen, especially in large buildings, as it is hard to accommodate everyone. But there is a special kind of reverence that comes from singing old hymns out of an old hymn book. I guess it just seems to mean more to us, and perhaps that is just tradition too. But having the words to the newer songs on the screen does help when the words to the song that are being sung are hard to understand.
