He is liberal in his thinking on many subjects...he was worried about my conservative views fitting in...I thought I'd die laughing when he said that. I told him that my peers consider me liberal.

Does his wife wear a headcovering? If so, you know you have someone who is pretty conservative, if not, he is probably pretty liberal. If he is worried about YOU being too conservative, with your done-up eyes, I doubt it if you will have anything to be concerned with. There are Mennonites (but I have not heard of Amish-Mennonites) who are quite liberal. They dress just like everybody else and pretty much their hobby horse is pacifism. Hoover might have some insights for you.

Thanks Emma. I had never heard the term either but that is how he described himself...Amish-Mennonite.

I've heard the term, but associated it with a more conservative group. The Amish-Mennonites that I visited before were very conservative, horse and buggy and all that. I have not heard of Amish-Mennonites who were liberal.
