You're right. I should have qualified that part.

Of course God "sees and hears" individuals: He makes no exception of persons. But it pleases Him, and
it His will, to see the Church come together as ONE.

I think a likely comparison would be a forest made up of trees. Each tree is an individual, but all the individual trees come together to make up one forest. I believe this is the comparison you were trying to make. God does see each one of us as individuals, but He also desires to see us as a collective body (or forest) working and doing His will in this world we live in.
