Re: House church or excuse?

Our house church is busting at the seams, and no doubt soon we will have to figure something else out. A good problem

lol... well some of us probably could use a weight watchers program, but no, I don't believe weight watchers would solve the dilemma of fitting more people into a small home. We are praying about it, and are not above looking for a tent to use, if necessary. Our weather here is somewhat prohibitive to that, unless the tent was a military style tent equipped with a wood stove. And, we have also mentioned splitting up into smaller groups during the week, and having a meeting at different believer's homes throughout the week, allowing those who wish for more fellowship to be able to do so throughout the week. Just a couple of options on the table that we are praying about.

A great problem to have! If a church body is healthy it will multiply so unless there are extraordinary circumstances a house church should always outgrow the house.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
