Oh my word! His integrity and livelihood on the line? Over disaffiliation?

Come on Daniel. If you think every detail is absolutely correct as posted here you need to take off the aluminum hat. The man's integrity was not questioned nor his job threatened. At least not where anyone can prove it.

Lest we forget, this seemingly all came about because the man wanted to do something in violation of a guideline.

And yes, I still think the scheduling was inconsiderate. Daniel, if the scheduling tables were turned you'd be singing a different tune I think.

Now Piggy,
you are being a wee bit disingenuous here. Are you telling me the church and pastor had plans to disaffiliate before the DS stepped in with the tv issue?

Get real, the decision to disaffiliate was a RESPONSE to pressure brought on by outside authority. Now we can argue all day about tv and how horrible it is. I agree the man shouldn't have had one. But to say that there was no pressure on the pastor is ridiculous and a horrible attempt to paint the Pig Pen.

I don't have a problem with spin when we are all debating, but this is not a debate. I loathe it when folks spin situations to protect their holy grails and golden calfs.

The idea that there was no intimidation is silly.

Trust me, we KNOW about intimidation. It happens and it's not pretty.

The pastor was asking for it, okay? He knew the rule and had agreed to it. But to say that the DS didn't threaten to carry out his charge is foolish.

The whole idea of disaffiliating is to make sure no outside entity can take over.

Especially if the plan is to turn your card in depending on how the vote goes this year.
