Realize that everyone in the US is not a Christian and people have the right NOT to be one. Freedom of religion, Freedom to choose, Separation of church and state.
All voting Americans vote their values whether it be Christian or atheist. Why is it that Christians tell other Christians not to vote for their values?

Does any of the US citizens make laws? We vote for representatives to stand in for us and our values.

If we elected Christians that sought government offices we might see a difference in some of the legislating in this country and it would be done through democracy. It would be fair across the board.

The thing is that the horrible laws being passed is because of our elected government. Whom we the American people are electing. We can't instantly change the government, but we certainly can try to change the voters. The Muslims may be wrong in their methods but they have the right idea. To overwhelm others by their numbers. We need to see more people saved. Over time the Lord willing it will change the nation.

I agree that Christians should act like Christians even when things aren't going their way.

So, in your opinion, we should do nothing to stop the baby genocide that's going on in America? 59 million dead since Roe Vs. Wade, and still counting. Let that number sink in, 59 million. 59,000,000.

Let's just turn our heads and ignore the death, shall we?

because voting implies acceptance of and fealty to a human government, and is a rejection of God. We vote for people, not values, strictly speaking; except in a referendum, which of course the ptb strive to avoid.

i think most of your polits are professing Christians, GS, and they have got us to here. Democracy is just the latest fashion for a whore, at the end of the day.

I disagree with you on Christians not voting. Of course we vote for people, but the character of the person is what everyone is looking for. Our character is made up of a value system that a person has. As far as this election goes, I don't think I can in good conscious vote.

That is why we need a revival of the people. We need to see a change in our definition of what it means to be a Christian in this country. Any human government will become corrupt when it turns from God. Democracy is not what made this country great, but it has been blessings of God. The two greatest commandments is love God and love fellow man. If those two commandments be at the foundation of any government then you will see a blessed people.

That's like saying that accepting a job implies acceptance of and fealty to human provision , and is a rejection of God.

Re: The Christian Right

well, i won't argue the point--1 Sam 8 seems pretty clear to me--so i might just ask how you would overcome what GS is pointing out; that one is pretty obviously being asked to choose which evil now? Also, it seems to me that just contemplating who Jesus would vote for would settle the issue for a Christian.

Esaias is right. Can't force sinners to obey the Word. Ain't gonna happen, and God woun't bless it.

If you want to do something about it - live the life, witness to folks, be a light, preach the gospel.
